Jeffery Leo Larvie, Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, South Dakota 2022

A 39-year-old Mission man has been sentenced to federal prison for failing to register as a sex offender.

Jeffery Leo Larvie, of Mission, South Dakota, was sentenced on June 27, 2022, by U.S. District Judge Karen E. Schreier.

Larvie was convicted of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, a charge stemming from his failure to register as required by federal law between September 22, 2021, and February 1, 2022.

As a result of the conviction, Larvie was sentenced to five months in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release, and a special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund in the amount of $100.

Larvie had previously been convicted of a sex offense in federal court, which requires him to register for the rest of his life.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Marshals Service, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey C. Clapper prosecuting the case.

Larvie was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service following the sentencing.
