A Naples man has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for producing images and videos of the sexual abuse of a child.
U.S. District Judge Thomas P. Barber handed down the sentence to Jeffrey Holcombe, 51, who entered a plea on January 23, 2023. Holcombe will also serve 25 years of supervised release and be required to register as a sex offender.
The sentence will run concurrently with a remaining term of imprisonment imposed in January 2022 by a U.S. District Court in Fort Lauderdale in a separate case.
According to court documents, between at least July 18, 2020, and March 3, 2021, Holcombe produced images and videos of his sexual abuse of a minor, who was between the ages of 16 and 17 at the time of the sexual offenses.
On April 3, 2021, law enforcement stopped Holcombe in his vehicle in Naples and found a cellphone on the passenger seat. Agents then impounded the vehicle and its contents, including Holcombe’s cellphone.
Further investigation revealed that Holcombe had been sexually abusing the minor and photographing or video recording his abuse at his home and at various hotels. A forensic analysis of the cellphone revealed 26 images and 16 videos depicting the minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Fort Myers Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force. Assistant United States Attorney Yolande G. Viacava prosecuted the case, which was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
