Jeffrey Holmes, Heroin Trafficking, Louisiana 2021
A federal investigation brought to light a lengthy Title III wire intercept, which captured New Orleans resident Jeffrey Holmes, age 45, on recorded calls. These intercepts led to a charge of violating the Federal Controlled Substances Act.
On June 16, 2021, Jeffrey Holmes pleaded guilty before the Honorable Sarah S. Vance to charges of conspiring to possess with the intent to distribute and to distribute a quantity of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of heroin.
According to court records, Jeffrey Holmes admitted to being captured on recorded calls as part of a lengthy Title III wire intercept.
The case was investigated by Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The prosecution is being handled by Assistant United States Attorney David Haller.
Jeffrey Holmes faces a penalty of up to 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $1,000,000, at least three years of supervised release following any term of imprisonment, and a $100 special assessment.
Sentencing is scheduled for October 27, 2021.
