Jeremy Aaron Schuler, Controlled Substance Trafficking, Montana 2023

A federal court in Montana has seen a string of arraignments this week, with several individuals facing serious charges related to controlled substances and other crimes.

JEREMY AARON SCHULER, 31, of Bellevue, WA, appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Timothy J. Cavan on April 25 and pleaded not guilty to charges of possession with intent to distribute controlled substances. If convicted of the most serious crime, Schuler faces a minimum mandatory five years to 40 years in prison, a $5 million fine and four years of supervised release. Schuler was detained. The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Other defendants arraigned this week include HERMAN ELISEO MENENDEZ, 24, of Billings, who faces charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, possession with intent to distribute and distribution of cocaine. If convicted of the most serious crime, Menendez faces a minimum mandatory 10 years to life in prison, a $10 million fine and five years of supervised release. Menendez was detained. The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

BLAKE ZELON ISGET, 24, of Billings, also faces charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, possession with intent to distribute and distribution of cocaine. If convicted of the most serious crime, Isget faces a minimum mandatory 10 years to life in prison, a $10 million fine and five years of supervised release. The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

GUS OLDBEAR, III, 20, of Garryowen, appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Timothy J. Cavan on April 25 and pleaded not guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter and assault resulting in serious bodily injury. If convicted of the most serious crime, Oldbear faces a maximum 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release. Oldbear was released pending trial. The case was investigated by the FBI.

Other defendants who appeared this week include CHRISTIAN DANIEL TAKESENEMY, AKA CHRISTIAN DANIEL YARLOTT, 22, of unknown residence, who faces charges of theft within Indian Country. If convicted of the most serious crime, Takesenemy faces a maximum five years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release. Takesenemy was detained. The case was investigated by the FBI.

The U.S. Attorney's Office announced that the following persons were arraigned or appeared this week before U.S. Magistrate judges on indictments handed down by the Grand Jury or on criminal complaints.
