South Dakota Man Sentenced to 30 Years for Drug Conspiracy

In a shocking turn of events, Jeremy Allan Anspach, a 46-year-old man from Marshall, Minnesota, has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for his role in a massive drug conspiracy. The crime dates back to September 2021, when Anspach was indicted by a federal grand jury for Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance.

According to court documents, Anspach knowingly and intentionally combined, conspired, confederated, and agreed together, with others, to knowingly and intentionally distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture and substance containing methamphetamine in the state of South Dakota and elsewhere. During his involvement in this conspiracy, he assisted in the transportation of multiple pounds of methamphetamine from Arizona, California, and other states, into South Dakota.

Additionally, Anspach sold multiple ounces of methamphetamine to undercover agents during this investigation. This brazen display of disregard for the law has earned Anspach a lengthy prison sentence.

Anspach was arrested and immediately remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service. His guilty plea on June 27, 2022, marked the beginning of the end for this notorious drug trafficker.

The case was investigated by the FBI, South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and the Brown-Lyon-Redwood-Renville Drug Task Force. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Hodges prosecuted the case.

Anspach's sentence includes 30 years in federal prison, followed by life on supervised release. He was also ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.

This case serves as a stark reminder of the devastating impact of drug trafficking on our communities. We must continue to work tirelessly to bring these perpetrators to justice and keep our streets safe.
