Jeremy Allen Wolfe, Felon in Possession of Firearm, West Virginia 2024
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA - Jeremy Allen Wolfe, a 32-year-old man from Glenville, West Virginia, has admitted to illegal possession of a firearm, a serious crime that carries severe penalties.
Wolfe pled guilty to one count of 'Felon in Possession of Firearm,' a charge that prohibits individuals with felony convictions from possessing firearms. His guilty plea was announced by Acting United States Attorney Betsy Steinfeld Jividen.
According to the investigation, in November 2014, Wolfe was found in possession of multiple firearms, including three rifles and two shotguns, in Calhoun County, West Virginia. Wolfe's prior conviction for Delivery of a Controlled Substance in Gilmer County, West Virginia, makes him ineligible to possess firearms.
Wolfe faces up to ten years in prison and a fine up to $250,000. The actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history of the defendant, as per the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew R. Cogar prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the West Virginia State Police investigated the case.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Aloi presided over the case.
Wolfe's case serves as a reminder of the severe consequences of violating federal firearms laws. It also highlights the importance of effective law enforcement and the need for individuals to comply with the law.
