Princeton Man Sentenced to Federal Prison for Cocaine Distribution

In a shocking turn of events, 53-year-old Jerome Jones of Princeton, West Virginia, has pleaded guilty to seven federal drug charges. The charges against Jones include seven counts of distribution of a quantity of cocaine base, two counts of possession with intent to distribute a quantity of cocaine base, and one count of distribution of a quantity of cocaine.

Jones's guilty plea comes after a lengthy investigation by the West Virginia State Police, which was praised by U.S. Attorney Mike Stuart. 'We are committed to working with the fine men and women of the West Virginia State Police in their efforts to make West Virginia communities safer places to live, work and play,' said Stuart.

The investigation revealed that Jones sold quantities of cocaine and cocaine base to a confidential informant between May 18, 2016, and November 13, 2017. Additionally, on June 1, 2016, and December 20, 2017, the West Virginia State Police executed a search warrant at Jones's residence and seized quantities of cocaine and cocaine base.

Jones faces up to 20 years in federal prison on each count when he is sentenced on May 30, 2018. United States District Judge David A. Faber will preside over the sentencing hearing.

The case against Jones serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in West Virginia. As U.S. Attorney Stuart noted, the West Virginia State Police have played a crucial role in keeping the state's communities safe.
