Jerry Gorisek, Methamphetamine Possession, South Dakota 2019
Rapid City, SD - Jerry Gorisek, a 48-year-old man from Rapid City, South Dakota, has been charged with a serious crime that puts the community at risk. Gorisek was charged on September 10, 2019 with Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person.
On November 1, 2019, Gorisek appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Daneta Wollmann and pleaded not guilty to the charge. If convicted, Gorisek faces a minimum of 5 years up to 40 years in federal prison, a fine of up to $5,000,000, and at least 4 years up to life supervised release. Gorisek is also required to pay $100 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund and may face restitution in addition to these penalties.
The charges against Gorisek relate to his possession of 50 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance, and the unlawful possession of a revolver in July 2019 in Rapid City.
