Auburn Man, 26, Charged with Possession of Child Pornography

BOSTON, MA - May 26, 2026 - In a disturbing case of child exploitation, local authorities have arrested and charged Jesse Laino, 26, with possession of child pornography in Auburn, Massachusetts.

According to charging documents, federal agents executed a search of Laino's residence and seized two cellphones containing hundreds of images and dozens of videos of child pornography.

Laino was released on conditions following an initial appearance in federal court in Worcester today. The defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

The charging statute provides for a sentence of up to 10 years in prison, up to three years of supervised release, and a fine of $250,000. Sentences are imposed by a federal district court judge based on the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

United States Attorney Andrew E. Lelling, Michael Shea, Acting Special Agent in Charge of Homeland Security Investigations in Boston, Auburn Police Chief Andrew J. Sluckis Jr., and Worcester Police Chief Steven M. Sargent made the announcement today.

Assistant U.S. Attorney John T. Mulcahy of Lelling's Worcester Branch Office is prosecuting the case.
