Jesse Porter, Child Pornography, Pennsylvania 2023
An Elk County man is facing multiple child pornography charges after a federal grand jury indicted him in Erie, Pennsylvania, according to a recent indictment.
Jesse Porter, 41, a resident of Ridgway, Pennsylvania, was named as the sole defendant in the eight-count superseding indictment.
According to the indictment, Porter took sexually explicit images and videos of two minor victims and distributed and received computer images depicting minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children, and to identify and rescue victims.
The law provides for a maximum total sentence of 220 years in prison, a fine of $2,000,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant United States Attorney Christian A. Trabold is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
The Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.
