Jessica L. Voss, Failure to Pay Legal Child Support, South Dakota 2013
Perhamn, Minnesota resident Jessica L. Voss, 28, is facing serious charges after being indicted by a federal grand jury for failure to pay legal child support.
According to the indictment, Voss failed to pay over $19,085.00 in past due child support, sparking an investigation by the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General.
The maximum penalty for Voss upon conviction is two years imprisonment; a $250,000.00 fine; one year supervised release; one additional year upon revocation; a $100.00 assessment fee; and child support restitution amount owing at the time of sentencing.
Voss appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge William D. Gerdes on March 19, 2013 and pled not guilty to the indictment.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas J. Wright is prosecuting the case.
Voss was released on bond pending trial, which has been set for May 21, 2013.
The charge is merely an accusation and Voss is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
