Curtis Hall and Others Plead Guilty to Human Trafficking Charges
In a shocking turn of events, Curtis Hall, 37, of East Dublin, Georgia, Lantesia Lanier, 41, of Dublin, Georgia, and Jackie Fields, 47, of Cochran, Georgia, pleaded guilty to offenses related to a human trafficking enterprise spearheaded by co-defendant Jessie Lee Hall, Jr.
Curtis Hall, Lantesia Lanier, and Jackie Fields are facing serious consequences for their involvement in the human trafficking ring. Curtis Hall is facing a maximum of 5 years imprisonment, while Fields and Lanier are facing a maximum 3 years prison sentence. All are subject to a maximum fine of $250,000.00.
The investigation, led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, uncovered a shocking web of deceit and exploitation. Jessie Lee Hall, Jr., the mastermind behind the operation, was previously charged with conspiracy to commit sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, five counts of transportation for illegal sexual activity, and one count of inducement to travel to engage in criminal sexual activity.
Jessie Lee Hall, Jr. acted as a pimp for several victims, forcing them to perform commercial sex acts in hotels throughout Central Georgia. The victims were subjected to a combination of threats of force, fraud, or coercion, and were advertised on the website Backpage.com.
The investigation revealed that Jessie Lee Hall, Jr. had been trafficking women for sex since at least 2013. The victims were forced to travel from other states to Georgia to work as prostitutes, with Hall advertising their services online.
The case is a stark reminder of the devastating impact of human trafficking on its victims. The FBI and its law enforcement partners are committed to bringing perpetrators to justice and protecting the vulnerable.
“Human trafficking is a crime that literally trades in the bodies and souls of its victims,” said United States Attorney Charles E. Peeler. “The investigation and prosecution of these crimes are among the highest priorities of my office.”
Sentencing for Jessie Lee Hall, Jr. is scheduled for late September or early October of 2018.
