Jesus Eduardo Villeda-Villegas, Reentry of Removed Alien, West Virginia 2025
Jesus Eduardo Villeda-Villegas, a 30-year-old Mexican citizen living illegally in Huntington, West Virginia, pleaded guilty to the felony offense of reentry of a removed alien and was sentenced to time served.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has immigration detainers on Villeda-Villegas so he can be transferred to ICE administrative custody for removal proceedings.
According to court documents and statements made in court, law enforcement officers in Huntington encountered Villeda-Villegas on April 23, 2025. ICE agents confirmed that Villeda-Villegas is a citizen of Mexico in the United States illegally and had previously been deported from the United States.
Villeda-Villegas was removed from the United States to Mexico on March 12, 2015, after being found in Hildalgo, Texas. He never obtained the express consent of the Secretary of U.S. Homeland Security to reapply for admission to the United States, nor did he seek to reenter the United States through other legal means.
The case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the federal government to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.
“Stopping illegal immigration is a top enforcement objective of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of West Virginia,” said Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston. “I commend U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for their work in these cases.”
