John Larvie, Firearm Charges, South Dakota 2019
A Rosebud, South Dakota man has been indicted on federal firearm charges.
According to the indictment, John Larvie, 29, knowingly made false and fictitious written statements to purchase and possess a firearm on July 22, 2019.
Larvie, having been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, is charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person and False Statements During Purchase of a Firearm.
The maximum penalty upon conviction is up to 10 years in federal prison and/or a $250,000 fine, 3 years of supervised release, and $100 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. Restitution may also be ordered.
The charges are merely accusations and Larvie is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
Larvie was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending trial. A trial date has not been set.
