John Tyler Bible, Conversion of Mortgaged Property, Oklahoma 2012
Muskogee, Oklahoma - In a shocking case of financial deceit, John Tyler Bible, a 27-year-old from Lamar, Oklahoma, was sentenced to one year of probation for converting mortgaged property, a crime punishable under Title 18, United States Code, Section 658.
According to the charges, Bible knowingly and with intent to defraud, willfully concealed, removed, disposed of, or converted to his own use certain property - cattle having a value in excess of $1,000.00 - and which was at the time of said disposition, mortgaged, pledged to and held by, United States Department of Agriculture-Farm Service Agency.
The crime allegedly took place on or about June 6, 2012, and continuing through December 16, 2013, within the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
The sentencing was carried out by The Honorable Ronald A. White, U.S. District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee.
Assistant United States Attorney Christopher Wilson represented the United States in this case.
Bible's sentence marks the culmination of a lengthy investigation by the Department of Agriculture Office of Inspector General.
