Jordan Devon Bailey, Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition by a Convicted Felon, North Dakota 2019
A North Dakota man has been charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition, a serious crime that could lead to severe consequences.
Jordan Devon Bailey, a 30-year-old resident of Minot, North Dakota, was indicted on March 9, 2020, by a federal grand jury for allegedly possessing a loaded .40 caliber pistol and a short-barrel shotgun in his garage.
The search, conducted by North Dakota Probation and Parole on December 31, 2019, revealed the firearms, which Bailey is prohibited from possessing due to his previous convictions as a felon.
Bailey's past convictions include Unlawful Possession of a Firearm-Felon in North Dakota and Burglary and Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person in Nevada.
According to the indictment, Bailey is accused of possessing a firearm and ammunition, which are strictly prohibited for convicted felons.
The case is being investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, Ward County Narcotics Task Force, and North Dakota Probation and Parole.
Special Assistant United States Attorney Jeremy A. Ensrud is prosecuting the case, which is currently ongoing.
As a convicted felon, Bailey is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
The outcome of the case is yet to be determined, but the consequences of a guilty verdict could be severe.
