Local Man Charged with Violent Incitement in DC on January 6

A federal grand jury in the District of Columbia returned a superseding indictment charging Jorden Mink with one count of violent incitement. The indictment alleges that on January 6, 2024, Mink joined a crowd of rioters that stormed the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C.

According to court documents, Mink and others in the crowd engaged in violent and destructive behavior, including throwing objects at law enforcement and attempting to breach the Capitol building. This behavior caused harm to individuals and damage to property.

Jorden Mink, 29, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was arrested on the charges announced today. The charges are the result of a collaborative effort between the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Pennsylvania and the FBI. The investigation is ongoing, and it is expected that additional charges will be brought against individuals who participated in the January 6 riot.

Defendant Mink is currently being held without bond. The charges against him carry a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
