Methamphetamine Trafficking Lands Nebraska Man Behind Bars

Omaha, Nebraska - In a major blow to the city's narcotics trade, Jose Adan Rodriguez-Meza, a 39-year-old Mexican man, was sentenced to 135 months in prison for his role in a large-scale methamphetamine trafficking operation.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Rodriguez-Meza was identified by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Omaha Police Department as a bulk distributor of methamphetamine in February 2022.

Using a confidential informant, investigators purchased a total of six pounds of methamphetamine on February 28, 2022, March 23, 2022, and April 8, 2022. Additionally, on April 8, 2022, a search warrant was executed on Rodriguez-Meza's residence and an additional four pounds of pure methamphetamine were seized.

Rodriguez-Meza's sentencing marks the culmination of a lengthy investigation, which was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Omaha Police Department.

Chief U.S. District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. handed down the sentence, which includes 135 months of imprisonment. There is no parole in the federal system.

Following his release from prison, Rodriguez-Meza will be required to serve a five-year term of supervised release.
