A South Bend man with a history of crossing the border illegally has been sentenced to 16 months in prison after pleading guilty to a federal charge. Jose De Jesus Rosales-Gamez, 44, was found guilty of illegal re-entry of a deported alien.
Rosales-Gamez has been removed from the United States four times since the mid-1990s. His most recent removal was in 2016 or 2017, following two prior felony convictions. Despite this, he chose to return to the country, once again putting himself and others at risk.
