Tucson Man Arrested for Methamphetamine Trafficking

A 28-year-old Tucson man has been arrested and charged with methamphetamine trafficking after being found in possession of approximately 27 pounds of the illicit substance.

Jose Gracia-Vega was arrested on October 17, 2024 by members of the Arizona Strike Force for Possession with Intent to Distribute 27 Pounds of Methamphetamine and was charged by criminal complaint on October 18, 2024.

According to the complaint, Gracia-Vega met with Sebastian Higuera-Fuentes that morning and provided him methamphetamine for later distribution. Higuera-Fuentes and Ulises Yescas-Garcia were arrested that same day on the charges set forth in the October 2nd indictment.

The indictment alleges that Yescas-Garcia and Higuera-Fuentes conspired with one another and others to distribute large amounts of methamphetamine in Tucson beginning in February 2024, and distributed that methamphetamine on at least six occasions during the time of the conspiracy.

This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) Strike Force operation. The OCDETF Strike Force Initiative identifies, disrupts, and dismantles the highest-level criminal organizations that threaten the United States using a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach.

The investigation is being conducted by Homeland Security Investigations, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Marana Police Department, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, and the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Assistant U.S. Attorney David Petermann is handling the prosecution.
