Joseph Authe ment, Receipt of Materials Involving the Sexual Exploitation of Minors, Louisiana 2025
A Hammond man has been sentenced to 60 months in prison for his role in receiving materials involving the sexual exploitation of minors.
Joseph Authe ment, 25, of Hammond, was sentenced on April 16, 2025, for Receipt of Materials Involving the Sexual Exploitation of Minors, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 2252(a)(2) and (b)(1).
According to court documents, on March 11, 2024, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) obtained a federal search warrant to seize Authe ment's Apple iPhone. On March 12, 2024, HSI special agents located Authe ment at his residence in Hammond, LA. The agents seized Authe ment's iPhone and located images and videos depicting the sexual exploitation of minors on that phone. SAs later determined Authe ment used a messaging application to download and purchase child sex abuse materials.
United States District Judge Jane Triche Milazzo sentenced Authe ment to sixty (60) months imprisonment, supervised release for (10) ten years upon release from imprisonment and payment of a $100 mandatory special assessment fee.
