Rochester Man Sentenced for Heroin Possession and Gun Charge
A 47-year-old man from Rochester, New York, was sentenced to 100 months in prison for possessing heroin with intent to distribute and possessing a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon.
Joseph Delisio was found guilty of the charges after a vehicle stop on April 11, 2018. At the time of his arrest, he had approximately $34,650 in cash in his possession and officers found a bottle containing residue of suspected heroin, scales used to process narcotics, and a .22 caliber Ruger handgun.
During a subsequent search of Delisio's residence, officers recovered three more firearms and ammunition. Delisio was previously convicted in 2013 of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, in 2009 of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, and in 2002 of Burglary in the Third Degree, which made him legally prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition.
The sentencing is the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Ray Donovan, New York Field Division, and the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, under the direction of Sheriff Barry Virts.
