A York County man has been sentenced to 151 months in prison for his role in a cocaine trafficking operation in Pennsylvania.

Joseph Gallego, 37, of York, was sentenced on August 28, 2025, by United States District Judge Keli M. Neary on charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

According to Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus, Gallego was observed entering a home in York County on October 18, 2024, where a safety sweep revealed a loaded Glock model 40, 10 mm caliber semiautomatic pistol, 76.37 grams of cocaine base, 1.13 grams of cocaine base, and a digital scale.

The York County Drug Task Force, along with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, investigated the case, which is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at eliminating cartels and transnational criminal organizations.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Scott Ford prosecuted the case.

Gallego pleaded guilty to the charges on October 18, 2024. The sentence was handed down on August 28, 2025.

This case is a reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and related crimes in our communities.
