Joseph Kamosky, Possession Of Illegal Firearm Silencers, Pennsylvania 2018
SCRANTON, Pennsylvania - In a shocking turn of events, 36-year-old Joseph Kamosky of Damascus, Pennsylvania, has been charged with possession of illegal firearm silencers.
According to the United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the indictment alleges that Kamosky possessed three illegally-made firearm silencers on October 25, 2018, in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
The matter was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Scranton Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Jeffery St John is prosecuting the case.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and making neighborhoods safer for everyone.
Indictments are only allegations, and all persons charged are presumed to be innocent unless and until found guilty in court.
The maximum penalty under federal law for these offenses is 10 years of imprisonment, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine.
