Joseph L. Crapsi, Laser Pointing, New York 2024

Buffalo, NY - On March 2, 2024, a Delta Airlines flight was in flight and on approach to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, a Cheektowaga man aimed a green laser pointer at the aircraft.

Joseph L. Crapsi, 31, of Cheektowaga, NY, was convicted of pointing a laser pointer at an aircraft. The case was prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of New York.

Crapsi was sentenced to serve 18 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo. The charges against Crapsi include pointing a laser pointer at an aircraft, a federal offense.
