Joshua Hood, Distributing Child Pornography, West Virginia 2015
A Clarksburg man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for distributing images of child pornography, authorities announced.
According to the government, Joshua Hood, 34, of Clarksburg, used his smartphone in August 2015 to distribute and transmit images depicting a minor engaged in explicit conduct.
Hood pleaded guilty in October 2015 to one count of ‘Transportation of Child Pornography’.
U.S. District Judge Irene M. Keeley presided over the case.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda Wesley prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The Federal Bureau of Investigation investigated.
The case against Hood serves as a reminder of the severity of sex crimes and the importance of protecting children from exploitation.
