Juan Hollis, Conspiracy to Sex Traffick a Child, Virginia 2017

A Chicago man has been sentenced to 4 years in prison for conspiring to prostitute a 17-year-old in the Tidewater region of Virginia.

Juan Hollis, 23, was sentenced on February 13, 2017, after pleading guilty to conspiracy to sex traffick a child.

According to court documents, Hollis started prostituting a 19-year-old in the Tidewater area in February 2017. Soon after, the pair recruited a 17-year-old that the 19-year-old knew previously.

Hollis would post the minor's image on the Internet and advertise for prostitution clients for the minor. An undercover operation by the Norfolk Police discovered the minor.

U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia Dana J. Boente, Assistant Special Agent in Charge of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Norfolk Michael K. Lamonea, and Norfolk Police Chief Larry D. Boone made the announcement after sentencing.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth M. Yusi prosecuted the case.
