Juan Martin Sanchez-Suarez, Production of Child Pornography, Alabama 2024
Birmingham, Alabama - In a disturbing case of child exploitation, Juan Martin Sanchez-Suarez, a 24-year-old illegal alien from Mexico, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for producing child pornography.
According to the plea agreement, Sanchez-Suarez filmed himself engaging in a sex act with a 12-year-old female child without her knowledge. He later sent the video to the child, telling her that as long as neither of them told anyone, they would not get in trouble.
U.S. District Court Judge Annemarie Axon handed down the sentence of 360 months in prison followed by a lifetime of supervised release. As part of his sentence, Sanchez-Suarez was ordered to pay a $3,000 special assessment under the Amy, Vicky, and Andy Act.
The case was investigated by the Homeland Security Investigations, along with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and Lipscomb Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel S. McBrayer prosecuted the case.
This conviction will require Sanchez-Suarez to register as a sex offender in accordance with the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA).
