Manhattan DA Announces Guilty Plea in Rental Scam Case

A Bronx man has pleaded guilty to stealing thousands of dollars from multiple victims through an apartment rental scam, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr. announced today.
Juan Valoy, 47, pleaded guilty in New York State Supreme Court to one count of grand larceny in the third degree. The defendant is expected to be sentenced on September 9, 2024, to a promised sentence of two to four years in State prison.
According to the Manhattan DA's office, Valoy defrauded three victims of around $25,000 through the scam. The case was investigated by the NYPD's Financial Crimes Unit.
