Guatemalan National Pleads Guilty to Illegal Re-Entry in Louisiana

Grimy Times has learned that Julio Raymundo-Santos, a 41-year-old citizen of Guatemala, has pled guilty to illegal re-entry of a removed alien in violation of Title 8, United States Code, Section 1326(a).

According to court records, Raymundo-Santos was previously removed from the United States on or about April 4, 2014. He was later found in the Eastern District of Louisiana on or about May 10, 2016, and had not received permission from the Attorney General or the Secretary of Homeland Security to reenter.

Raymundo-Santos faces a maximum term of imprisonment of two years, a maximum fine of $250,000, a maximum term of supervised release of one year, and a mandatory $100 special assessment. U.S. District Judge Nannette Jolivette Brown set sentencing for August 11, 2016.
