Convenience Store Shooting in Warren, Ohio Claims a Life
A devastating convenience store shooting in Warren, Ohio, on August 3, 2025, has resulted in a life lost and another injured. The shooting occurred at a Convenient Food Mart in Warren, Ohio, around 5 a.m. when a fight escalated into a mass shooting incident involving multiple individuals.
The Warren Police Department and the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of gunshots and an individual who was shot. Investigators determined that several individuals were seen loitering and playing a dice game outside the main door when a fight broke out and turned violent.
Jumal Ellis Rowe, a 32-year-old resident of Warren, Ohio, has been sentenced to prison for his role in the convenience store shooting. On August 3, 2025, Rowe pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, charges stemming from his previous convictions for trafficking cocaine in 2013 and possession of cocaine in 2020.
U.S. District Judge Dan Aaron Polster sentenced Rowe to 92 months in prison and ordered him to serve three years of supervised release after his imprisonment. This sentence brings an end to Rowe's role in the tragic events at the Convenient Food Mart in Warren, Ohio.
Two other defendants involved in the incident, Sean King, 37, and Rayjon Ray McElroy, 25, have been charged separately. King is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of ammunition, while McElroy was sentenced to 25 months in prison after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm and ammunition by a prohibited person.
The investigation into the convenience store shooting was led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) Youngstown Field Office, the Warren Police Department, and the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kevin E. Bringman for the Northern District of Ohio.
