Justin D. Bula, Child Pornography, Wisconsin 2019
Local Man Indicted on Child Pornography Charges
A federal grand jury in the Eastern District of Wisconsin has indicted Justin D. Bula, 35, of Crandon, Wisconsin, on charges of distributing and possessing child pornography. According to the indictment, Bula distributed images of child pornography in April 2018 and possessed images in March 2019.
Bula, a lifetime sex offender registrant in the State of Wisconsin, was previously convicted of possession of child pornography in Forest County Circuit Court on October 7, 2015. He now faces one charge of distribution of child pornography, contrary to Title 18, United States Code, Section 2252A(a)(2)(A), and possession of child pornography, contrary to Title 18, United States Code, Section 2252A(5)(b).
As a result of his alleged crimes, Bula faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years and up to 40 years of incarceration in federal prison. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Daniel R. Humble.
The investigation into Bula's activities was conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, with the assistance of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse, is also involved in the case.
An indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. Bula is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which the government must prove him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
