The robbery occurred on October 11, 2017. Davis walked into a branch office of Bank Newport and handed a teller a note that read "All $100 50, Empty Draw, No Dye packs, No Alarms." The teller handed over $4,920 in cash, and Davis made his escape.

At sentencing, U.S. District Court Chief Judge William E. Smith also ordered Davis to serve 3 years of supervised release upon completion of his term of incarceration. Davis had previously pleaded guilty to a charge of bank robbery on September 21, 2018.
The case was investigated by the Tiverton Police Department and the FBI, with assistance from the Fall River Police Department. United States Attorney Aaron L.
