Kacey Caudill, Child Sex Abuse, Florida 2024
Orlando, FL - A Melbourne man has been charged with enticing a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity and other child sex abuse offenses, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida.
Kacey Caudill, 28, of Melbourne, was indicted by a grand jury and charged with one count of enticing a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity, one count of production of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), three counts of receipt of CSAM, and one count of possession of CSAM involving a minor under 12 years of age.
According to the indictment, Caudill committed these offenses between August 2 and October 9, 2024. If convicted on the enticement count, Caudill faces a minimum penalty of 10 years, up to life, in federal prison. For the production of CSAM count, he faces a minimum sentence of 15 years, up to 30 years. Each receipt count carries a minimum sentence of 5 years, up to 20 years, and for the possession of CSAM count, he faces up to 20 years in federal prison.
The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations. It will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kaley Austin-Aronson.
This case is another example of the federal government's commitment to protecting children from sex abuse and exploitation. Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006, marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children, and to identify and rescue victims.
Kacey Caudill is presumed innocent until proven guilty. His case will be prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida.
