Kammeron Davis, Restaurant Robberies, Missouri 2022
A brazen string of restaurant robberies in St. Louis has come to an end, with one man sentenced to 27 years in prison for his crimes. Kammeron Davis, 33, was found guilty of three counts of robbery, one count of attempted robbery and three counts of brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.
The robberies took place between September 13 and September 20, 2020. On September 13, Davis robbed a Penn Station restaurant at gunpoint, just a month after his release from parole for a similar robbery in 2009. The next day, he tried to rob a Subway restaurant in Maplewood but was chased off by a broom-wielding employee. However, he was able to rob a Subway in St. Louis just 15 minutes later, and followed it up with another robbery at a different Subway in St. Louis on September 20.
The FBI, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and the Maplewood Police Department investigated the case, with the help of video evidence and eyewitness testimony. Three people identified Davis as the robber in court, and jurors found him guilty of all charges.
U.S. District Judge Stephen R. Clark sentenced Davis to 27 years in prison, and ordered him to pay restitution of $4,788 to three of the restaurants and two employees. Assistant U.S. Attorney Donald Boyce prosecuted the case.
The case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence in communities. The program brings together law enforcement and community organizations to prevent violence and improve public safety.
Davis's crimes were a brazen and violent series of events that put innocent people at risk. His sentence sends a strong message that such behavior will not be tolerated in our community.
As part of the sentencing, Davis was ordered to pay restitution to the following restaurants and employees:
$2,788 to a Subway restaurant in St. Louis
$1,000 to a Subway restaurant in Maplewood
$1,000 to a Penn Station restaurant in St. Louis
And $1,000 to a Subway employee who was robbed in St. Louis
Davis will begin serving his 27-year sentence immediately.
