Keith Crossley, Methamphetamine Conspiracy, New York 2012

Published November 18, 2014

BUFFALO, N.Y.--In a harsh blow to the community, convicted methamphetamine conspirator Keith Crossley, 39, of Niagara Falls, N.Y., has been sentenced to 37 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara.

The sentencing comes after a thorough investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Brian R. Crowell, New York Field Division and the Niagara County Drug Enforcement Task Force, under the direction of Sheriff James Votour. On May 3, 2012, members of the Niagara County Drug Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration executed a search warrant at 314 Quain Place, in the Town of Niagara, where they found an active methamphetamine lab in the kitchen.

Inside the mobile home, officers seized precursor chemicals and ingredients used to manufacture methamphetamine, a loaded 12-gauge Mossberg shotgun, shotgun shells, a digital camera, and drug paraphernalia and spent blister packs from the pseudophedrine tablets. Keith Crossley was arrested and charged with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.

Crossley's co-defendants, Jason Hannon, 38, and Robert Gardiner, 29, have also faced the music. Jason Hannon was sentenced to 63 months in prison, while Robert Gardiner was sentenced to one year in prison. Another co-defendant, Roberta Hannon, 45, has been convicted on similar charges and is awaiting sentencing.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Mary Catherine Baumgarten, who handled the case, stated that the evidence collected during the investigation would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of the law enforcement agencies involved.

The harsh sentence handed down to Keith Crossley is a testament to the commitment of law enforcement to rid our communities of the scourge of methamphetamine. As a journalist, I can attest that this case serves as a reminder of the devastating consequences of methamphetamine use and the importance of continued vigilance in combating this deadly menace.

In conclusion, the sentence of Keith Crossley, 37 months in prison, serves as a warning to those who would seek to engage in similar activities. The community can rest a little easier knowing that justice has been served in this case. As always, we at Grimy Times will continue to bring you the latest updates on crime and justice in our community.
