California Man Sentenced to 22 Years in Prison for Methamphetamine Trafficking

Gulfport, Miss. – A Palmdale, California man has been sentenced to 270 months in prison for attempting to possess with intent to distribute 441 grams of pure methamphetamine in Mississippi.

Keith Quintal McGill, 44, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Gulfport on December 13, 2023.

According to court records, an investigation into a large-scale drug trafficking organization began in 2019. The organization was shipping large amounts of methamphetamine through the United States Postal Service to the Southern District of Mississippi. McGill was identified as someone who had been sending pound quantities of methamphetamine to the state.

On July 8, 2019, federal agents made arrangements to conduct a controlled purchase from McGill. He sent 441 grams of 100% pure methamphetamine to a controlled post office box in Mississippi.

McGill was indicted by a federal grand jury and pled guilty to attempting to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and Homeland Security Investigations. It is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation, which identifies, disrupts, and dismantles the highest-level drug traffickers, money launderers, gangs, and transnational criminal organizations.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Erica Rose.

As part of the OCDETF operation, federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies work together to disrupt and dismantle criminal networks.
