Kenneth Frederick Calvo, Methamphetamine Trafficking, Guam 2013

A shocking methamphetamine trafficking case has come to a close in the District Court of Guam.

On December 17, 2013, Kenneth Frederick Calvo pled guilty to Attempted Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, in violation of Title 21 U.S.C. Section 841(a)(1).

The defendant received a package containing 214.9 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride, which was sent from California. The drug was intercepted by the United States Postal Service, and it is alleged that Calvo intended to distribute the drug on Guam.

Chief Judge Frances Tydingco-Gatewood sentenced Calvo to 108 months in prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release.

U.S. Attorney Alicia A.G. Limtiaco commended the United States Postal Service for their vigilance in detecting the mailed drugs and praised Homeland Security Investigations for participating in the investigation.

Assistant U.S. Attorney R. San Nicolas handled the case.

The Guam community can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that another methamphetamine trafficker has been brought to justice.

The case highlights the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies in combating the illicit drug trade.
