A Philadelphia man has been convicted of his involvement in a massive drug trafficking ring that distributed cocaine base, heroin, and fentanyl in the area.

Kenneth Watts, 35, pleaded guilty to one count of violating federal narcotics laws in federal court in Johnstown.

The crime occurred between March 6, 2018, and April 2, 2018, during which time Watts and a co-defendant conspired to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute a quantity of cocaine base, heroin, and fentanyl.

Watts' sentencing has been scheduled for December 9, 2019, at 1 p.m. The law provides for a maximum total sentence of 20 years in prison, a fine of $1,000,000, or both.

Assistant United States Attorney Stephanie L. Haines is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.

The Laurel Highlands Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Cambria County Drug Task Force conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of Watts.

Watts' guilty plea is a significant blow to the organized crime group that was involved in the distribution of these deadly substances.
