Rochester Man Pleads Guilty to Distributing Oxycodone

A 58-year-old Rochester man has pleaded guilty to distributing oxycodone, a controlled substance, in a case investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Kent Handy, 58, of Rochester, NY, pleaded guilty to distributing oxycodone before Chief U.S. District Judge Frank P. Geraci, Jr. on February 28, 2019.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney John J. Field, Handy sold hundreds of oxycodone pills to another individual between January 2016 and December 2017. The individual would arrange to purchase the pills from Handy, then travel to his residence to buy them.

In December 2017, federal agents executed a search warrant at Handy's residence and found controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.

Handy faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $1,000,000 fine for the charge of distributing oxycodone.

The plea is the result of an investigation by Special Agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge James J. Hunt, New York Field Division.
