Bank Robber Gets 5 Years, 10 Months in Federal Prison

Orlando, FL – In a stark reminder of the consequences of committing crime, 42-year-old Kenyada Emanuel Jacobs has been sentenced to 5 years and 10 months in federal prison for his role in the robbery of a BB&T Bank in Casselberry, Florida.

The sentence, handed down by Senior U.S. District Judge G. Kendall Sharp, also includes an order for Jacobs to pay restitution in the amount of $1,750 to the victim bank.

Jacobs pleaded guilty to the crime on January 15, 2015, after being caught in the act of robbing the bank on October 27, 2014. The officers who responded to the scene were able to recognize Jacobs thanks to a domestic disturbance call they had responded to involving him just hours earlier.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Casselberry Police Department, with Assistant United States Attorney Embry J. Kidd handling the prosecution.

The brazen daylight robbery was caught on the bank's surveillance footage, which provided crucial evidence in the case against Jacobs.
