Keshawn Robinson, Armed Robberies, Tallahassee FL, 2022

TALLAHASSEE, FL – Keshawn Jarmarlin Robinson, 21, is facing a hefty federal indictment following a one-week tear through Tallahassee businesses, allegedly robbing six establishments at gunpoint in mid-November. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), alongside the Tallahassee Police Department, brought the charges against Robinson, who is already a convicted felon.

The indictment, handed down by a federal grand jury, details a string of brazen robberies. On November 15, 2022, Robinson allegedly targeted a Subway restaurant. Four days later, on November 19th, he hit the Tobacco Outlet. The spree continued on November 20th with a robbery at a Dollar General store, followed by robberies at an Advanced Auto Parts store, a Firehouse Subs, and the Lemon Pepper restaurant on November 22nd. In each instance, authorities allege Robinson brandished a firearm to intimidate employees and customers.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida, Robinson is charged with six counts of Hobbs Act Robbery, six counts of brandishing a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence, and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. This last charge carries significant weight, as federal law prohibits convicted felons from owning or possessing firearms or ammunition. Robinson’s prior conviction is not detailed in the released information.

If convicted on all counts, Robinson could face a minimum of 20 years in prison for each of the six Hobbs Act robbery charges. The brandishing charges each carry a mandatory consecutive sentence of at least 7 years, potentially extending to life imprisonment. Add to that up to 15 years for the firearm possession charge, and Robinson is looking at a potentially decades-long stretch behind bars. Assistant United States Attorney Eric K. Mountin is leading the prosecution.

This case is part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a nationwide initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence. The program emphasizes community partnerships and strategic enforcement. The US Attorney’s office is also urging Tallahassee residents to lock their car doors, citing vehicle burglaries as a key source of firearms for criminals in the Northern District of Florida.

An indictment is not a declaration of guilt. Robinson is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt at trial. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida, one of 94 nationwide, will bear the burden of proof. Public court documents related to this case are available on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida website.
