A Hempstead man has admitted to committing 40 armed robberies across Long Island, the Grimy Times has learned. Khalif House, 24, pleaded guilty to an indictment charging him with conspiracy to commit armed robberies.

The robberies occurred between February 9, 2015 and June 7, 2016, and took place in Nassau, Queens and Suffolk Counties. House and his co-conspirators targeted various businesses, including Carvel, Dunkin Donuts, Subway and 7-Eleven stores.

According to prosecutors, House wore mismatched gloves and brandished a knife during nearly every robbery. He also chased down a fleeing employee and cut another employee who attempted to disarm him.

House was apprehended on June 8, 2016, in Floral Park, after attempting to rob a Dollar Tree store in Queens. He was found hiding in a stranger's van with mismatched gloves.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Long Island Gang Task Force, the Nassau County Police Department, the New York City Police Department, and the Suffolk County Police Department. A number of other law enforcement agencies also assisted in the investigation.

House faces a maximum of 20 years in federal prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced at a later date.

United States Attorney Robert L. Capers praised the work of law enforcement agencies involved in the investigation.
