Kranston Algeno Rolle, Firearms Trafficking, Florida 2023
A Bradenton felon is going to spend the next four years behind bars after being sentenced for his role in firearms trafficking. Kranston Algeno Rolle, 33, was handed down a four-year prison term by U.S. District Judge Virginia Hernandez Covington in Tampa, Florida.
Rolle pleaded guilty on June 14, 2023, to his crimes, which included trafficking in and receiving multiple firearms. The firearms in question were a Smith & Wesson Model SD9 VE 9mm caliber pistol, a Glock Model 45 .9mm caliber pistol, and a GForce Arms Model GF2P semi-automatic shotgun.
According to court documents, Rolle discharged the firearms at a shooting range in Palmetto on December 30, 2022. Furthermore, he purchased a box of shotgun shells at the shooting range and signed a liability release form where he knowingly misrepresented his status as a convicted felon.
Deputies from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at Rolle’s residence on March 17, 2022. During the search, they located two firearms that matched the type used by Rolle at the shooting range. A video recording showed Rolle discharging the firearms, and a photograph confirmed his identity as he posed with one of the pistols.
Rolle later admitted to using the pistols at the shooting range and having unlawfully received and fired the shotgun. At the time of the offense, Rolle had multiple prior felony convictions, including robbery, grand theft of a motor vehicle, felony battery, and fleeing and eluding a police officer.
As a convicted felon, Rolle is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition under federal law. This case was investigated by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys David W.A. Chee and David P. Sullivan.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program that aims to reduce violent crime and gun violence in communities. The program brings together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to make neighborhoods safer for everyone.
