Kyle Devan Cachora, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Arizona 2020

A brutal assault in San Xavier, Arizona, has culminated in a 25-month prison sentence for Kyle Devan Cachora, 28, of Sells, Arizona.

On Thursday, United States District Judge Jennifer G. Zipps handed down the sentence to Cachora, who previously pleaded guilty to Assault With a Dangerous Weapon.

The crime occurred on July 2, 2020, when Cachora, an enrolled member of the Tohono O'odham Nation, stabbed a Tohono O'odham woman on the Tohono O'odham Nation in San Xavier, Arizona.

The FBI and Tohono O'odham Nation Police Department conducted the investigation in this case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Frances M. Kreamer Hope, District of Arizona, Tucson, handled the prosecution.

Cachora will serve 25 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, according to the sentencing.
