Gulfport, Miss. - Ocean Springs Woman Convicted of Concealing Federal Crime
Gulfport, Miss. - A 29-year-old Ocean Springs woman has pleaded guilty to failing to report and concealing a federal crime, according to the U.S. Attorney Mike Hurst and Kurt Thielhorn, Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Lauren Nicole Colegrove will be sentenced by Judge Sul Ozerden on Friday, February 21, 2020, at 9:00 a.m., in Gulfport.
Colegrove's conviction stems from her failure to report a federal crime committed by a man she was accompanying on October 12, 2017. The man had burglarized a St. Martin home and was in possession of stolen firearms. Colegrove not only failed to notify federal authorities as soon as possible once she became aware of the crime, but she also took affirmative acts to conceal the crime.
