A Cleveland man has been charged with a string of armed robberies that took place across the city and in neighboring Shaker Heights.

Lawrence Sturdivant, 32, is accused of robbing or attempting to rob nine Walgreens, Family Dollar and CVS stores in Cleveland and a Walgreens in Shaker Heights between Dec. 5 and Dec. 26, 2021.

An indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. The defendant is entitled to a fair trial in which it will be the government’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

If convicted, Sturdivant’s sentence will be determined by the court after a review of factors unique to this case, including his prior criminal record, his role in the offenses and the characteristics of the violation.

The investigation preceding the indictment was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Cleveland Division of Police and the Shaker Heights Police Department. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Adam J. Joines.
