Legend Davis, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, New York 2026

Rochester, NY - Legend Davis, a 22-year-old Rochester resident, is facing serious charges after being accused of possessing ammunition as a convicted felon.

According to the charges, Davis was convicted in the Western District of New York in September 2024 of possession of a postal key and theft of mail. As a result, he is legally prohibited from possessing ammunition.

On December 16, 2025, Rochester Police officers responded to a report of harassment at an address, where a caller stated that a car full of individuals had come to their house, beeped the car horn, and called for them to come outside. Davis was one of the occupants of the vehicle and allegedly made threatening statements and gestures, including pointing to his waistband.

United States Probation officers conducted home visits on December 16, 2025, and January 21, 2026, at Davis's Rauber Street residence. During one of these visits, an officer asked Davis if there was anything in the residence that he was not permitted to possess. He admitted to possessing ammunition, and officers located nine rounds of ammunition.

Davis made an initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark W. Pedersen and was held pending a detention hearing.

This case is part of the Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) initiative established by Executive Order 14159, Protecting the American People Against Invasion. The HSTF is a whole-of-government partnership dedicated to eliminating criminal cartels, foreign gangs, transnational criminal organizations, and human smuggling and trafficking rings operating in the United States and abroad.

The complaint is the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Bryan DiGirolamo, and United States Probation, under the direction of Clifford D. Jackson, Chief Probation Officer.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The maximum penalty for being a felon in possession of ammunition is 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
