Leocadio Contreras-Sebastian, Meth Distribution, Iowa 2023

Sioux City, Iowa - Grimy Times reports that a man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy in the Sioux City area.
According to court documents, Leocadio Contreras-Sebastian, 38, of Warren, Arkansas, conspired to distribute methamphetamine and distributed methamphetamine in the Sioux City area from January 2020 through April 2, 2022. On April 2, 2022, law enforcement conducted a controlled drug buy operation from Contreras-Sebastian and his co-conspirators, resulting in the seizure of over 3 kilograms of pure methamphetamine.
Contreras-Sebastian was arrested and charged with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and distributing methamphetamine. He pled guilty to both counts on August 24, 2022. At his sentencing hearing, held before United States District Court Chief Judge Leonard T. Strand on February 2, 2023, Contreras-Sebastian was sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment and ordered to serve a five-year term of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
Contreras-Sebastian remains in the custody of the United States Marshal until he can be transported to a federal prison. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn S.
