Loren Shon Waters, Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance, South Dakota 2019
A Pine Ridge man has been sentenced to a decade behind bars for his role in a massive methamphetamine conspiracy.
Loren Shon Waters, 46, was handed down a 10-year prison sentence by Chief Judge Jeffrey L. Viken, U.S. District Court, on June 27, 2019, for his involvement in the distribution of 500 grams or more of methamphetamine in western South Dakota, primarily on the Pine Ridge Reservation.
According to prosecutors, Waters sold and distributed the illicit substance from May 2016 through February 2018.
As part of his sentence, Waters was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
